Question When I command XP to shut down, it just reboots!?!?

Like I said in the thread title, when I command XP (home edition) to shut down, it just reboots. The only way I could get my PC to "Shut down" or "Turn off" was to turn the power off on the power strip. Any advice on how I can get my pc to shutdown properly would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure that you are selecting Turn Off instead of Restart? You can also shutdown your PC from the task manager the top menu has a Shut Down command.

Yes I'm postive I'm selecting Turn Off. Actually after researching the problem this morning, I'm now thinking it is a device conflict. Yesterday I installed an M-Audio Oxygen 8 MIDI controller. Apparently it hasn't been verified with XP, and most all Windows OS's for that matter. When i get home today I guess I'm gonna install the updated drivers I found online for my MIDI controller and see what happens.
