Additional E-mail Attachments

I have a problem where I have received an e-mail and the attachment that it should have is not there and when I click on the attachment Iget a MSN screen with a forward arrow which when pressed brings up photos that I have sent out on other e-mails. I also received a couple of photos that came in as text rather than the photo, even though it came in as a jpeg. Any ideas?

I do not use MSN and it comes up and looks like this "image 001.gif" and it has a small wordpad picture with what looks like the figure that comes up when you drag the mouse across an e-mail address on top of it. If I click on it, it brings up a link to MSN Emoticons and across the top of the screen is the header bar Microsoft Office Picture Manager. I have done virus scans and checkec for spyware but can find nothing.
