Recently ive noticed something strange with windows. just above the start button there is what appears to be a minimized window which says 'STATIC'.

i cannot click or move this. does anyone know what it is and what its doing?

Have you tried right-clicking and viewing its properties? Or perhaps bringing up your task manager to see what the process is.

Have you viewed your add/remove programs to see if any program had installed itself recently?
