Unhappy Internet problem??

Hello,
I just built my first computer and everything works ok except for when i go to use the internet (im using mozilla firefox) the computer will randomly "lock up" and the screen will go blank and nothing happens. Sometimes it will come back saying that the VPU engine (or something similar) has crashed and you need to restart. Although it works fine. This only happens while i'm online.

Any thoughts???

Regards,
Dan

Internet Explorer

Does this problem happen in Internet Explorer, too?
Does your error occur when you open the web browser or when you're connected to the Internet, period?

A VPU is a "Video Processing Unit." If the error mentioned your graphics card as a problem, check for any device conflicts under Device Manager, or try to reinstall the driver for it. What graphics card are you using and what screen resolution?
If the problem doesn't happen in IE, I would suggest to reinstall Firefox, if you plan to continue using it. Or just keep using IE.

Do you have another graphics card that you could test?
I also just checked the Device Manager for the IRQ of the monitor and the ethernet card. On my machine, they're both set to 09. If the same applies to you, then you probably have a device conflict. Try to run the troubleshooter for each device.
