ya...it (no sound) just happened after i formatted my laptop.its configuration are :- windows XP sp 2

Manufacturer: Compaq
Model: Presario V6000 GG228PA#ACG

System Information

CPU: Intel(R) Celeron(R) M CPU 440 @ 1.86GHz

512 ram,Mobile Intel(R) 945 Express Chipset Family 128 mb,plug n play monitor

i have read a lot of stuff about this problem on this site, but the problem is that....
after i formated my laptop....
firstly i installed the UAA bus driver, then the sound driver (Conxtent HD audio) then the "FOUND NEW HARDWARE" window appears...then it searches for SOMTHING and a message appears saying "NO AUDIO DEVICE DETECTED"....wat i do now?????am i using the right audio driver???
I downloded the audio & UAA bus driver from hp site.
On the hp site there are no drivers for my laptop model.

what do you mean by "no drivers on hp site"??
You said you downloaded the audio & UAA bus driver from hp site, so why do you say they have no drivers???
If you mean you downloaded drivers for a different model, that's why they don't work.
Different models have different components inside them.

I can see no way out of this problem if HP/Compaq no longer support your model.
Time for a change, or spend days & even months looking on google.

If laptop has a recovery disk now's the time to use it.
Also, many laptops used to be supplied with a "driver cd" so you could restore a driver
without having to fully re-install Windows. Have a look for it.
