Running programs in the background

I'm running a ventrilo(voice chat) server that uses a command line window, and stay open on my task bar. I would like to know how I can run this in the background and recall in later if I need to use it. I don't want a command box open all the time, so I was hoping someone here could help me.

BTW, its the only way I know of that does anything like that you ask.
