Scheduled Tasks but Computer Turned Off

Hello,

I want xp to recognise if a scheduled task hasn't run e.g. if my computer was turned off at the time of the scheduled task.

As an example if ad-aware was scheduled to run at 3pm on a Friday and I didn't turn my computer on until 5pm then I want it to run at 5pm.

Can xp do this or is there another program (free if possible) that can do it.

Regards,

Paul.

There's an option to wake this computer to run this task.
Open the add scheduled task wizard, after you've set the times for the task, check the open advanced properties when I click finish. On the settings tab you can check the box to wake the computer to run this task.
Or set it to run when I log on.
I don't think you can have it doing both at the same time, unless you are able to set it up twice , once either way. Then you would have to rename [eg add a 1] to the task name...and whether it would then still work I couldn't guarantee, you would have to try it.................at your own risk.

Solution Found

I've found the solution. Go to start/allprograms/accessories/systemtools/scheduled tasks.

Then click on the advanced button and select 'notify me of missed tasks'. Then just run it manually.

Hey it's not the perfect solution but then again xp isn't perfect either!

Paul.
