SET A SYSTEM RESTORE BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE
You need to check which Creative Labs SB Live card you have installed, do to Device Manager / right click the Creative Labs SB Live / Properties and make a note of the version Then go here to Dell http://support.euro.dell.com/support...os=WW1&osl=EN#
under Audio there are 2 drivers for your card a 24 bit and a 5.1 digital get the one that matches your version in Device manager.
Hope this helps

A multimedia and a PCI device could mean a sound card is installed, are your radio jacks at the top near keyboard and mouse or much lower down the tower, if lower down a sound card is installed. What is the make and model of your comp
Try belarc http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html it may give a few more clues
Cheers
