This is the support site for your PC http://www.pcservicecall.co.uk/support the perishers won't let me link directley, follow this path

Your drivers are on a section of your C:/ drive right hand pane - Desktop PC's / drop down Manufactorers / Phillips freeline / LS Range / LS1100 / look at Recovery - 1st Item in list on Re-Install

One thing, Specs saay you have High Definition (HD) audio, Realtek have different driver for HD audio, select Downloads and install the Realtek driver offered here if you are not able to get it from the Applications folder on C:/ drive.

Don't forget the Restore Point before installation just in case

Hope this helps

I've been doing some tech support with my Uncle's laptop..

Sadly, without putting much thought into it, I reformatted it for him without realizing he didn't have system restore disks or even driver disks for the system board. Someone else purchased and owned the laptop prior, so we aren't certain as to where exactly the disks themselves are.

Chipset drivers and audio drivers are totally necessary.

It was a custom built job, so the system board is generic.

Here are my Belarc results:
Operating System System Model
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (build 2600) Enclosure Type: Desktop
Processor a Main Circuit Board b
800 megahertz AMD Athlon 64
64 kilobyte primary memory cache
1024 kilobyte secondary memory cache Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 080011 07/15/2004
Drives Memory Modules c,d
60.00 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
52.98 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space

SONY DVD RW DW-Q58A [CD-ROM drive]

HTS726060M9AT00 [Hard drive] (60.01 GB) -- drive 0, s/n MRH403M4GLJJRB, rev MH4OA68A, SMART Status: Healthy 1024 Megabytes Installed Memory

Slot 'DIMM0' has 512 MB (serial number SerNum0)
Slot 'DIMM1' has 512 MB
Local Drive Volumes

c: (NTFS on drive 0) 60.00 GB 52.98 GB free

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

4 versions of that board, K7S5A see here http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWeb/SiteMap...ID=0&Lan ID=9

2 different audio drivers, but first go here, they are all SiS boards, this will identify the onboard audio http://www.sis.com/support/support_prodid.htm

Iv'e used this on an SiS board, if the audio is the SiS 7012 audio it will give a link to the driver, if it says it is not an SiS audio then go to ECS and get the C-media driver

To solve my problem I had to go into the BIOS and enable sound.

Hope this helps
