Before I installed a fresh windows xp on my pc, i runned sandra (something like belarc) and it said under multimedia audio controller:
intel 82801eb ich5 ac '97
as my motherboard is a soltek SL-86MIP-L, i installed the driver for audio from the official website.
But still no luck, then after reading all of these posts i released that i had to install the intel chipset driver first(also downloaded it from the official site)
Si I did and installed the audio driver again, still no luck.
Then i installed 3 other audio drivers from 3 different sites and still no luck.
I hope you can help me

Checked the specs for the board, and the soltek site, it appears that both the chipset, and AC'97 drivers are out of date, Your Chipset is Intel 865g get the Intel Chipset here from Intel http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...5&submit=Go%21
it's No:3 on the list, install and then restart your comp.
Get your AC;97 driver here from Realtek http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&Software=True
Set a Systen Restore Point before each installation just in case
Hope this helps

The information is not enough, SiS-655FX is the chipset No; not the motherboard, can you give the make and model or post more of the printout, there is not enough to identify the system.
Hope this helps

Set a System Restore Point before installation of each driver
Your board is a D865PERL
Go here http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...4&submit=Go%21
No: 4 is your Sound driver
No: 5 is the Intel chipset Software Installation Utility.
You must install No: 5 first then restart your comp
then install No: 4 your sound driver
Hope this helps

When you get to the site, the driver you want is shown as
Windows 98Gold/98se/Me/2000/XP/2003(32/64) shown as A3.79 choose one of the download sites. The warning is the File Download-Security Warning dialogue box - click Save - the Save As dialogue box will open - choose a location to save, the Desktop or the MyDocuments folder, somewhere you can easily find, make a note of the file name. After download complete, to install navigate to where you saved the file, double click the file , and it will install itself.
Don't forget set a System restore Point just in case
Hope this helps
