Is this a Dell computer, if so what model, also have you installed a seperate sound card, the reason the intergrated sound for the motherboard is a SoundMax driver, need to make sure that it is onboard sound you are useing. Look at this from M$ on how to dela with error code 28 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/3101...22120121120120
Let me know the answers.

Hope this helps

Set a System Restore Point just in case

Go here to ASUS http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us

In top left hand corner where Input Model to Search enter P4S333 / then P4S333 / Drivers tab
then scroll to Version 288b WinXP Audio Driver V5.12.01.0638 it is a C-Media cm288b sound driver.

Hope this helps

No this is not a dell computer I built this computer. I just recently installed a new sound blaster due to my other sound card not working. I think I need to upgrade my mother board drivers however I am alittle confused on how to do that. The asus mother board page is somewhat confusing and I am having a hard time trying to find out what drivers to download.

Motherboard:
Board: ASUSTeK Computer INC. P4P800-VM Rev 1.xx
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: American Megatrends Inc. 1012.002 03/22/2004

Go to ASUS here http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us

in left corner "Input Model to Search" / P4P800 / P4P800-VM / check the Drivers tab / check the Utilities tab you will need the Intel Chipset Software Installation Utility before installing any other drivers / The manual tab will let you download all the specs for your board - you will need Adboe reader to use.
Any other questions just post back.

Hope this helps

Iv'e highlighted the clues that Belarc gives, the processor AMD/ the motherboard maker ASUS/ the model A7V133-C / the chipset Via, then you Google the motherboard maker or just the motherboard details.

Go here to ASUS http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us
in top left corner under Download it says " Input model to search" / enter A7V133-C/In Category select Drivers / select A7V133_C / Drivers tab / You have 2 choices of drivers, they are both v1.40a Via audio Driver, one for XP alone, another Via Audio Driver 1.40a - Audio patch Driver for Windows, this is the one I would choose. It's a zip file.

Hope this helps
