No sound

Hi,
This seems to be a good place to get help from

I have had this problem of suddenly losing sound with a buzz like tuning a radio or something for a while. Sometimes this horrible screaming from my speakers would continue for a while and then stop either taking all sounds with it or rarely leaving them on. This strangely enough was fixed by rebooting the machine. Recently when i tried to get my sound back without rebooting the PC by - i think - disabling and enabling the device from device manager i lost them as it seems completely. Now the only sound im getting is PC Beep on every windows error message.
I don't think its hardware caused as the sound works great on my old OS and the pc beep comes from my speakers. I don't think the problem is the drivers as i have updated them all.. even updated DirectX and it didnt help.. dxdiag says:
"DirectSound-testitulokset: Virhe vaiheessa 3 (DirectSoundCreate): HRESULT = 0x88780078 (Ei ohjainta)" Ei ohjainta meaning no device.
Direct music plays the music bit with no errors if set to use my sound card and not the Microsoft Synthesizer.
Device manager shows no errors but i can't see the speaker on my task bar and Sound and Hardware options are all grayed out.. it seems that everything works just fine, windows just doesn't consider my sound card an audio device.
I have updated all my drivers including chipset.
I have changed my integrated AC'97 to a Creative PCI one installing all the driver for it and disabled the integrated one from BIOS
I have run a virus scan and read a rice of forums yet finding no answer for my problem. Im really getting frustrated with no music in my life.
Thank you in advance for your help and apologies for my grammar.
