SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE

Hope this helps

I've done that, and Installed the Drivers, and it tells me "Installation Failed", And I'm pretty sure I've never seen that before.

I have a Sound Blaster Live! Value card, and whenever I try to install the driver, I get a "Data is invalid." error. Multimedia Audio Controller and PCI Input Device absolutely refuse to work because of this, and I can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong. I've read solution after solution, from resetting the CMOS to modifying the registry, and nothing's working. Just more beeps from the onboard speaker.

My OS is XP, Service Pack 2.

very little info from Hp, can you get Everest, copy and paste the My Computer/Summary section, need to know the Chipset for the board http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...-Edition.shtml

Also are your audio plugs at the top of the tower, near keyboard and mouse sockets on the I/O plate or lower down in an exspansion slot ( PCI )

Hope this helps

What make and model is your comp, if not sure get Belarc, copy and paste the report, but not softare or win update section. The chipset may need to be installed first http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Help! Any clue? And thanks in advance.

HD

These are the drivers that Sony have for upgrading your system to Vista http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu...Type=Migration

look at the Sony Discovery Tool for Windows Operating System > click more

Video - last in the list, this is the Sony Shared Library Update. this has the INF files and should be installed first before any other drivers

Perhaps useing the Download Taxi and get all drivers, and put on a CD may be a good idea

Now not sure if this is available on Vista but SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE

Hope this helps
