Unhappy Hi Bookworm!

Tried that one before, and it failed to install. Tried it again at your request and it failed again. I don't know what to do.

Check this out
Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Properties / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

Hope this helps

This is the option that was selected, however it is now the only option that is available - for some reason I can't select my old sound card

Well, I went to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Properties / Sound Playback, and under the volume tab it says that I have no audio device period. The arrow that you wanted me to click on under the sound playback tab is greyed out as well. Any ideas?

check this out
Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Apply > click Start > Reboot.

hope this helps

First look at this
Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Properties / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

have you tried a System restore to before sound failed, this board has onboard sound,

Do you have more than one set of radio plugs, 1 set at top of tower on I/O plate and 1 lower down tower in an exspansion slot.

if onboard sound the driver is here http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWeb/Dow...uID=35&LanID=0

it's realtek audio

SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT BEFORE INSTALLING JUST IN CASE

Hope this helps

PLZZZZZZZZ HELP!!! ive been trying to fix this for days, as my name says ImNotATechGeek!!

2 audios showing C-media PCI and Intel Soundmax.

have you 2 sets of audio plugs, one at top of tower and 1 lower down.

Check this
Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Properties / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

Hope tis helps

C-Media can be onboard sound, what make and model do you have, have you more than 1 set of audio plugs, 1 at top of tower and 1 lower down.

if your not sure of your model get belarc, copy and paste the report, not software or win update section http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
