Your audio is SoundMax digital tthis is your link to Compac drivers http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport...&swEnvOID=1093

check this out first
Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Properties / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

Hope this helps

Try installing this way, locate where the SigmaTel driver has been placed, then go to Device Manager, anything yellow flagged follow instructions on updateing the device

1. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers"
2. Right-click the the yellow flagged device and choose Update Driver
3. In Windows XP SP2, the Update Wizard will prompt to connect to the Windows Update
4. Select "No, not this time" and click Next
5. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click Next.
6. Select "Search for the best driver in theses locations" and check "Include this location in the search"
7. Click Browse and select the the location of downloaded driver
8. Click OK and click Next
9. Wait while the Wizard installs the software
10. Click Finish.

Hope this helps

Go here to Sony http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu...eType=Original

you have to install The Sony Shared Library driver first, RESTART the comp if told to, it won't recognise the audio drver untill this is installed

Then you can install the SiS audio driver
