Anyway...I have spend a lot of time trying to fix the sound on my computer. I cant play any music/sound/movie on the computer and there is a yellow ? mark by multimedia audio controller and PCI Gameport Controller.

I dont know the type of mother board, all I know its Intel.
I have PIII, 128 Ram and running XP.

How I can find the driver, or should I ask how would I know which mother board I have and sound card?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Ali :-)

get Belarc copy and paste the report, omit the software and win update section http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

I'm having the same problem with my Multimedia Audio Controller -no sound. When I went to devices there was a yellow question mark next to it so I uninstalled it. At Belarc it says under Multimedia None Detected. Heres some info on my computer.

Thanks so much bookworm! I finally got it working right thanks to you and the other site. I do have one more question...When I look under my device manager there is another yellow question mark that read "PCI Simple Communications Controller..what does that mean? everything else seems to be working fine... So I don't have a clue!

Thanks again...I'd buy ya a drink if you were closer!

Red face

I have the exact same problem with my daughter's computer as the rest of these guys. I have done everything to find drivers, but can't.
I get the same yellow question mark under "other devices" listed as Multimedia Audio Controller. Under Sounds there is: Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Drivers, Legacy Video Capture Devices, Media Control Devices & Video codecs. My daughter's computer is a Gateway E4000 - Serial Number: 0030239485.

I actually clicked on the link under the response to the first post on this page as he has a Gateway just like this one, but when I typed in my serial number, no My Sounds appeared, just other downloads for this computer. Help!

get Everest copy and paste Comuter - Summary section, see if it shows audio http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...-Edition.shtml
