Everything on hardware is working properly but the multimedia audio controller
It says under it,

Location PCl Bus 0, Device 31, function 5

Device Status: The Drives for this device are not installed (Code 28)

I'm running a IBM ThinkPad

Need more info, Thinkpad model or get Belarc copy and paste the report, omit all software and win update section http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Check this out first, see if Realtk is set as default device
Go to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices / Sound Playback – click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be something “modem line 0 playback” has been substituted for the correct audio device.

if not go to the Intel link above and install No:3 INF Update
Install then Restart your comp , then install audio driver again

I went to Control Panel / Sound & Audio Devices - all it said was 'No audio device' and everything is greyed out, so i cant click anything. But im sure i have an audio device, i jus formatted my pc and this happens ><

Tried installing the link too but still nth helps...

So sorry to bother again... ><

Check this
Start / Control Panel / Administrative Tools / Component Services / a separate window will open – in left pane click Services(Local) / Scroll down to Windows Audio service / if the service is Disabled or Manual right click > select Properties > under Startup Type change to Automatic > click Start > OK Reboot.

Audio problems...how original!!!

I seem to be having exactly the same problem as everyone else. Unfortunately I don't have much original info about my PC as I bought it as a reconditioned thing. Hope I've got the right info from belarc!! Problem is fairly similar, no sound and the Multimedia Audio Controller appears to have no driver. The error message I keep getting is that no sound device is installed. Would hugely appreciate any help.
