Btw, instead of just having a yellow question mark beside Multemedia Audio Controller, i have one beside Video Controller too. Will this be the reason none of this works?

Go here to Intel and install the chipset driver, No:3 INF Update Utility
http://downloadfinder.intel.com/scri...4&submit=Go%21
then install the audio driver again
Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case

Japanese Vaio Multimedia Controller drivers?
I recently bought a Japanese market Sony Vaio model VGC-RC52. After installing English Windows I have had to reinstall all the drivers.
The last three drivers that I cannot install are the Multimedia controller, the SM BUS controller and the PCI device.
I have tried to install drivers from a similar US model of the Vaio, but no luck. Any thoughts on how to figure out what drivers I need?

more information
Apparently the audio device in the Vaio RC52 is called a "Sound Reality" device, and it is a Sony card. But I cannot find the drivers for this device anywhere...

Looking at the FIC P4-865PE Lite board it has Realtek AC'97
AC'97 http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false
download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click to install
Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case
