I decided after some thinking that it was time for me to reinstall my OS (I use XP) unfortunately this time I´ve come across a few troubles.

A yellow triangle infront of the Multimedia Audio Controller and Ethernet Controller.

I don´t have an external network card nor a soundcard (the video card is working as it should) so I´ve come to the conclusion that the problem resides with me missing drivers for my motherboard. Any thoughts on this, am I on the right track or am I out sailing?

My motherboard / main circuit board is an AOpen MX4SGI-4DN2. (I´ve tried to search for it but only found dead downloadlinks...) So if anyone can help me you would have an eternal (online) friend here in Sweden.

Kind regards

This is the link to your AOpen MoBo drivers, audio and Lan are listed

Creative don't have the driver but go here to driverguide http://members.driverguide.com/ums/index.php?action=r

you will need to register - login - say no to offers - left hand pane Drivers - Search - Simple - Filter: - Sound card - Any OS - model: SBLW-XPWEB-W3-US the second in the list SB Live from gary

then you can get an update from Creative http://uk.europe.creative.com/suppor...pe=1&x=20&y=13

Hey,

Well it seems I'm one of the many having the same trouble with my sound. I have no sound, and when I attempt to play something like in mediaplayer all I get is "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functioning properly."

Now when I go to Device Manager it has, under other devices, Multimedia Audio Controller with a yellow mark before it. When I click on it it says "This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)"

Also under sound and audio devices it says I have no audio device. Hope this helps and thanks in advance!

need a little help getting rid of the stupid ? multimedia audio controller from my device manager >< ASUS A8N-SLI onboard sound, XP pro sp2. tried the realtek driver from their site and from realtek's site to no avail. i know the answer is probably buried somewhere in this 200+ page thread but my headache wont let me browse that long.
