No Sound

I have been looking over the large amount of sound forum queries this morning and figured this sounds like the best place to ask for help
I have downloaded the belarc and here is my report. My PC had sound before I re formatted and now it does not. If someone could help me out with my no sound problem that would be awesome.

Installing Drivers

Create a folder for what you are downloading

Example: Audio
Then download the zipped file to that folder

Then download and install Winzip
Go to the folder and right click and click Winzip extract to here

That will automatically make a folder and unzip files to it ( make a note of file path)

Then go to folder and click on Setup file and follow instructions displayed for installation

If no Setup file

1. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers"
2. Right-click the the yellow flagged device ( or audio ) and choose Update Driver
3. In Windows XP SP2, the Update Wizard will prompt to connect to the Windows Update
4. Select "No, not this time" and click Next
5. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click Next.
6. Select "Search for the best driver in theses locations" and check "Include this location in the search"
7. Click Browse and select the the location of downloaded driver
8. Click OK and click Next
9. Wait while the Wizard installs the software
10. Click Finish

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case

bookworm you a goddess bestowing you wisdom to mortal man. i read through the fourm and used the adivce you gave to some other people with similar computers to fix my problem. im not sure why but i ended up downloading the same drivers about 6 times and finaly on the last one it installed correctly and fixed my problem. it was all thanks to you . i even joined this site just to thank you, thats how appriative i am

1st install the Ati chipset drivers - read the installation instructions

2nd the Realtek AC'97 drivers - read the installation instructions

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case

Hi, my father also does not have any sound, with an unknown driver for the Multimedia Audio Controller. I know for a fact that not long ago we had sound, as I maintain the all the pcs in our house, and no large updates or anything had been performed. Any help is appreciated.

Thank you very much about the sound thing, now my computer have volume now. and i learn a lot. .. but there are still two problem....still two Big question mark in the device manager,,the one of the just called the Unknown device, and the other one is Video Controller (VGA Compatible)

The Graphic was terrible, the font was mess up, i try to do it on display properties to change the screen resolution and only two work that doesn't match to the screen.......also the same problem still have, when i move the window the whole window was moving very slow and like having multiple layers and very funcky
