I Need Help!

I have a little yellow question mark next to Multimedia Audio Controller. I have no sound coming out of my speakers and it says no audio device. How do i get it back???

Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 (build 2600)
Dell Computer Corporation Dimension 4600
System Service Tag: 5N95P31 (support for this PC)
Chassis Serial Number: 5N95P31

it says Legacy Audio Drivers, Audio Codecs, Legacy video capture device, media control device, and video codecs under sound, video, and game controllers in the device manager.

Please, and Thank YOU!!!

wish not having sound was the only problem...

i have also fallen victim to the cursed Multimedia Controller boogie-man, pretty sure i found the right driver, my problem is that it fails to install everytime... have reinstalled os 3 times, 2 online chat with support, 1 phone call now im trying this. never would have thought installing a sound driver would be the hardest thing i ever did... please and thank you

( i belive i have an Intergrated ADI 1885 Audio Card, witch should need Analog Devices ADI 198x Integrated Audio, i downloaded it from Dell and my cd, so many times...)

Bookworm cause u da man & u fixed my problem before I'm hoping u can help me again. My friend has this problem where: He has sound but the sound slowly gets quiter. Im not sure if its to a point where he cannot hear anything at all but the only way he can fix this problem at the moment is by rebooting his computer.

He gave me this information & says he cannot find an updated driver other than the 1 he currently has. Have you any advise please?
