Hey there,

I'm having the same sound problem here. Reformatted and I guess some drivers are gone. Any help would be great!

sm bus controller is the chipset, use this utility from SiS it will list the drivers you need from SiS and a link to install, accept the ActiveX it's safe
http://www.sis.com/support/support_prodid.htm

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

Tyler

These are your drivers from HP, listed under Original Drivers, you need
ATI Chipset
Graphics
Realtek audio

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s... 8329&lang=en

for these drivers to work, your monitor and audio must plug into the I/O plate as shown here http://www.overclockeddoc.com/bookwo...0io%20slot.JPG

Set a System Restore Point before installing each driver just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

Under the laptop is a label with the make. model and serial number ( S/N )

also Get Belarc, copy and paste the report, omit the Software section, it gives Product Codes for your OS and the Windows Critical Updates.
