Multimedia Audio Controller Problems

i have a gateway mx6427 and recently reinstalled windows on my laptop
i downloaded all the drivers from the gateway website and all of them work except the multimedia audio controller, i have what i believe to be the right driver from the gateway website, this one

but when i try to install it, it says that the installation has failed for some reason
any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Could u plz help me to get the right drivers and get my systems sound and display settngs function properly

These are the drivers for your Toshiba, audio is Soundmax http://www.isd.toshiba.com.au/71/liv...95638&x=12&y=4

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

Open Everest - expand Computer - select Summary - select Report - Quick Report - HTML . The report opens, using mouse hold the left button and starting at all above Debug-PCI - highlight all the text - when highlighted right lick mouse - select Copy.

That driver is a pain try this, you have to force the install

# you will have to go to device manager, right click on the sound device [doesn’t matter if it is not yellow with question mark], select update driver
# select Not at this time when asked to connect to the Internet
for drivers
# select Install from a list or specific location
# select Don’t Search, I will choose the driver to install
# select Have Disk and browse and point to the folder where the drivers are saved. [Make sure the drivers are unzipped]
