I recently got a computer and formated the computer but then I lost my sound. Please help me.

My computer summary with using Everest Home edition is the following...

Windows Audio service is enabled and set to automatic startup.

I can't tell if the chipset drivers are installed, it's a SIS 692Lua chipset, but cant get the drivers anywhere.....

I went there and tried downloading the C-Media Audio Driver but the download link does not work. Can you tell me any other place I can get it from?

O wise Bookworm the guru of sound

Hi Bookworm, I am having same issues as everyone here. Have recently done a clean install of XP PRO SP2 on my ibm t40 and cannot get sound and modem to work. No Audio device. I have updated BIOS, installed INTEL chipset, attempted to install soundmax driver from Lenovo site (which gives error msg of "Driver not found! Reboot your system and try again.") with no luck. Please help oh wise one and I will forever be in your debt.

Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions
