I tried all kinds of crapola (LOL). I looked high and low on the net, reading this and that. I contacted the card manufacturer and well... never mind. It was a NO-GO.

Then, THEN BY GOD, I read your posts on this board, used the Belarc Advisor to find the motherboard manufacturer, downloaded their updated drivers and software for the sound card and it works great now.

I just wanted to tell you how much I appreciated it. If you were here, I'd kiss ya. HOOAGH!

Thank you so much, you have made my day, replies like this is why I enjoy this forum so much.

Please help

This is the link to Dell http://support.euro.dell.com/support...&os=WW1&osl=EN

as you can see there are two Audio drivers, can you get Belarc http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
and post the findings, don't need the OS part, that way should be able to check which audio driver you need. Before you need to install the Chipset driver abd restart your comp.

Hope this helps

I'm confused. What exactly is it that I'm looking for? And what is a tower?

Somewhere on the computer there will be a reference similar to the models I have posted, for eg: with Sony it is on the front or the Cd drive, with HP&Compac it's on a sticker at the back or side of the tower. The tower is the CPU ( where you switch on the comp )

Hope this helps

Set a System Restore Point before installing each driver just in case

Then go here to Dell http://support.euro.dell.com/support...&os=WW1&osl=EN

Download and install the Chipset driver first and RESTART your comp

then download and install the Audio driver ADI 198x

Hope this helps

Go here to Dell, you will find the driver under Audio http://support.euro.dell.com/support...&os=WW1&osl=EN
this is the same driver that is on your disc.
Hope this helps
