I dont hav the mobo driver CD.. nor do i know the mobo manufacturer []
I just formatted the HDD and installed Win XP SP2.
It also gave problems during installation, hence i disabled the Ac 97 audio from BIOS setup, further installation was error free.
But now whenever i enable audio from BIOS ...
It shows up A BSOD as soon as it detects the new hardware in windows...
Hence i am stuck wit no sound......
PLs any help wld be appreciated

This is the board http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=P4i45GL

first install the INF driver - then restart your comp

then the C-Media audio driver

Set a System Restore Point before installing EACH driver just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

usally the BSOD means wrong audio driver, now been looking at Acorp, under the 845 boards, one board shows the realtek driver and C-Media, these drivers are often confused for one another, the board is the Acorp 4D845AP, try this one, and do set a Restore Point first
http://translate.google.co.uk/transl...3D9DO%26sa%3DN

Download Center
Motherboards
model: 4D845AP
audio CMI-8738
I try to install the audio CMI-8738, but nothing happen. It just pop up "the driver will be installed now. It may take a few minutes to complete". But when i press ok nothing is happening.

No sound coming from my built in monitor speakers. In addition to this problem I have no media device listed under my device manager. The only thing I have is the Multimedia Audio Controller listed with the yellow exclamation point. Any help would be appreciated to the highest degree. If anyone needs anymore info on my machine let me know.

Hi,

Sorry to interrupt,

This is a discrete question..

My hardware has no io space enabled for ich5 audio controller but is with memory mapped io that is read only (or not writable) . You know anything about that. Can u help me enabling the io space?

Thanx in advance..

Nothing wrong with my BIOS. I just try to download the driver from acorp web which is you give to me yesterday for my model. And i can install it, but the sound feels a little weird. And when i check the dxdiag, it said that " your sound card does not support hardware buffering. Sounds will only play back from software buffers". And when i open windows media player, the sounds really weird and feels different from before.
