Do you know your Optima model number ?
I'm still trying to solve this one, it's something to do with the driver version

If you go to the motherboard site look in the Tech section, look for poster T_D_D asus motherboard sound problem

hey bookworm, i was just curious..... where do you find all this info?? i've been looking for this driver for 3 hours with no luck at all. i was wondering if you could help me out, i would be eternally grateful.

Board: Seanix Technology Inc MS-7005
Bus Clock: 100 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 04/23/2004

i hope u can help me, cause i'm about to throw something through the monitor >:s

Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case

According to the motherboard a Micro Star MS-7005 you have Realtek ALC650 audio go here to get the driver from Reaktek http://w3serv.realtek.com.tw/downloa...&Software=True

The information is where I have underlined, it shows the maker as Seanix and I know that MS-7005 refers to a Micro Star motherboard model MS-7005.When you learn how to read Belarc you can see clues to makers and motherboards. I'm getting used to this now.
