According to MSI the MS-6533 board has realtek ALC 201A/202A/ALC650 audio

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case

Then go here to Realtek to get the driver http://w3serv.realtek.com.tw/downloa...&Software=True

Hope this helps

The only thing I can think of is have you disabled onboard in the BIOS, the CMI8738/C3DX PCI Audio Device is the onboard sound,

Cheers

Take a look at this from HP & Compac it explains about onboard sound and sound cards, and how thos BIOS should be set so that if a sound card is installed Windows will recognise it http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/d...cname=bph07154

you don't say whether you have a HP or Compac computer but this explanation is pretty clear and applies to most comps when installing a separate sound card on a system with onboard sound.HP says set to automatic some Bios settings only have enable or disable, if this is the case with your BIOS you will have to set to disable.

Hope this helps

Help!!!

Bookworm, anyone.

I refer to the message from MacBeth on 10-12-05. I have the same problem and could really do with guidance.

I've had to reinstall XP on my laptop but don't have the drivers for the motherboard.

Belarc informs me that my motherboard is Clevo 4xxx series Rev A (0106). DO you know which driver I need for this?

My PC wont play sound until I find the driver!

Kind Regards

My device driver disappeared!

Like everyone else i have the same problem.
"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly."
And when i check under Device Manager, its telling me there are no drivers installed for it. What baffles me is that i made no major changes to my system. Just the other day, my sound was great. This prob basically started when i borrowed the power cord for a few minutes to use on another machine. What happened to my Device Driver??? It deleted itself??

I have an E-Machines T2882. XP Home Edition

*crosses fingers* i really really hope you guys can help.

Via PT800 just tells me it is an Intel board with the VIA PT800 chipset, not the motherboard model name , what make and model is your computer, or get Belarc and post the results http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
