I did however find barcode stickers on the mother board

2: ULII53101477 PC 915M12-GL-6LS

Got the motherboard, it's a 915GL7MH-S audio is ADI go here to Foxconn http://www.foxconnchannel.com/suppor...D=en-us0000004
Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

Media Controll device
Im have the same problem with this driver. Tried for the comp to find automatically but wont work.
Went to gateway and entered the serial # but it diverted me to some other site with a giant list of Drivers and i have no clue which it is.
My sound card is built into the Mobo i know that much.
Its an Intel mobo. All it has is numbers on a sticker after intel which are -4000811
Have an Intel Celeron 2.20ghz processor
It is a Gateway Model # RWY081503
Serial # 0031836413
Hope this is all the ifo you need to help solve this issue cause at this point im lost.
Gateway's site was usless and I cant find anything on my comp that tells me what type of driver is needed for the missing controll.
TY in advance

have you tried installing this way, by making XP use the driver use the If No Setup File method
Installing Drivers
Installing Drivers
Create a folder for what you are downloading
Example: Audio
Then download the zipped file to that folder
Then download and install Winzip
Go to the folder and right click and click Winzip extract to here
That will automatically make a folder and unzip files to it ( make a note of file path)
Then go to folder and click on Setup file and follow instructions displayed for installation
If no Setup file
1. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers"
2. Right-click the the yellow flagged device ( or audio device Realtek, Soundmax C-Media etc ) and choose Update Driver
3. In Windows XP SP2, the Update Wizard will prompt to connect to the Windows Update
4. Select "No, not this time" and click Next
5. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click Next.
6. Select "Search for the best driver in theses locations" and check "Include this location in the search"
7. Click Browse and select the location of downloaded driver
8. Click OK and click Next
9. Wait while the Wizard installs the software
10. Click Finish.

Well the model is a Compaq Deskpro, Motherboard 0684h
I tried expanding the sound system like you asked but 3 problems ...
1) It doesnt actually show me a yellow sign when I open using 'My computer' ... but only on the driver update softwares that I scan with.
2) When I click on update it scans for a while then says "there are no updates for this device"
3) When I click on properties to check the status it says "this device is working properly"
Is there a driver that I can just download like the links youre giving to everyone else? Or is my problem something else?

Yes this is the site I went to..Ita all but useless. Anything I try to do there I get sent to MPC who is also useless.
They dont give me any type of useful info Just a giant list of parts. This is where im lost. Cant find anything pertaining to the driver for my model muchless my model as its not on the comp. Had this thing for ages so no clue what the exact model is.
Wish the site could at least show me which modle it is based on my serial number but it doesnt so yet again im stuck.
Trying to find away to get what i need but not getting anywhere. If you find a direct like to what I seek pls post it for me.
Thx again.

this is direct link to driver
http://support.gateway.com/support/d...&uid=206564129
bookmark this link, it's different than the usual Gateway site
http://www.gateway.com/
searching is different, at the top right where Search is shown input your serial number - click Search and your model RWL D030 with your serial number will show, from there you can link to all your drivers.
Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions
