Help Meeee

[quote=ToraNC]I don't seem to have sound on my computer. n.n; That is, from the speakers anyway, My computer, the actual PC, makes a beeping noise once in a while when I start up. Anyway, recently, I upgraded my OS to WinXP, everything seems fine except I don't have any sound. When I checked the device manager, under Other Devices, Multimedia Audio Controller had a big yellow question mark in front of it.

I tried to uninstall it in safe mode, and then restart it normally, it didn't work. When I got back on, I tried to reinstall it, but the computer couldn't find the software for the controller. u.u; So...help?[/QUOTE

gami

are your audio plugs on the I/O plate or in an Expansion slot http://www.overclockeddoc.com/bookwo...0io%20slot.JPG

check this

Check Control Panel/ Sound & Audio Devices/ Audio tab/ Sound Playback click on down arrow and check that the correct audio is selected. Typically the problem will be they something like "modem line 0 playback" might have been substituted for the proper audio device

You are the man! That did the trick!
Now I the reason I installed a new Xp is cause the old one kept locking up.. now that I installed this driver, I find it locks up when I go to play a game. Anyone have any suggestions as to why it would be doing this?
