I have the same (evidently very common!) problem, and was hoping for some help. Looks like you've been solving this problem for several years!

My information is as follows:

TOSHIBA Satellite P20 PSP20E-00V7V-EN
System Serial Number: 73628328GţSSP20-00V7VEN+0OL
Enclosure Type: Notebook

Board: TOSHIBA BTQ00

537.51 Gigabytes Usable Hard Drive Capacity
400.21 Gigabytes Hard Drive Free Space

TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-R6112 [CD-ROM drive]

ST340063 3A USB Device [Hard drive] (400.09 GB) -- drive 1
WDC WD1600BEVE-00UYT0 [Hard drive] (160.04 GB) -- drive 0, s/n WD-WXEX08TS0693, rev 01.04A01, SMART Status: Healthy

2048 Megabytes Installed Memory

Slot 'JP26' has 1024 MB
Slot 'JP24' has 1024 MB

Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller
Microsoft AC Adapter
Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery
SMC IrCC - Fast Infrared Port
Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard
Logitech USB MouseMan Wheel
PS/2 Compatible Mouse
Toshiba Secure Digital host controller
USB Mass Storage Device
USB Root Hub (5x)

I think that's all that Belarc has to tell me that's any use. Under multimedia it simply told me "none detected"

Trying to be at least a little intuitive, I visited the Toshiba driver download page you recommended to another Tosh user (http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/t...p?nav=Download) to no avail. It had nothing available for an XP/XP-SP2 user with a Satellite in either Sound or Display categories.

Any help would be extremely appreciated.
