use the Restore Point you created to go back to before you installed the driver and try this one
http://www.foxconnchannel.com/EN-US/...D=en-us0001235

you may need to install this way useing the If No Setup File method

Installing Drivers

Create a folder for what you are downloading

Example: Audio
Then download the zipped file to that folder

Then download and install Winzip
Go to the folder and right click and click Winzip extract to here

That will automatically make a folder and unzip files to it ( make a note of file path)

Then go to folder and click on Setup file and follow instructions displayed for installation

If no Setup file

1. Expand "Sound, video and game controllers"
2. Right-click the the yellow flagged device ( or audio device Realtek, Soundmax C-Media etc ) and choose Update Driver
3. In Windows XP SP2, the Update Wizard will prompt to connect to the Windows Update
4. Select "No, not this time" and click Next
5. Select "Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)" and click Next.
6. Select "Search for the best driver in theses locations" and check "Include this location in the search"
7. Click Browse and select the location of downloaded driver
8. Click OK and click Next
9. Wait while the Wizard installs the software
10. Click Finish.

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions

So I too am having a probelm with "Multimedia Audio Controller."

I have a big yellow question mark in device manager.

i recently moved and hooked my computer back up to find out the speakers aren't working.
they were before i moved.
but for some reason now they wont.

i've re-installed the realtek ac97 drivers, and still nothing.
the speakers are plugged in, as the blue light is on and i can hear them make a sound when they turn out (not a computer sound)
and they're plugged into the green input spot on the back of my computer.
any ideas what's wrong?
