Hello Bookworm,
I have a 5.1 audio card and 5.1 boxes. But I can't hear 5.1 sound, I only can hear sereo or mono sound. Then I looked in device manager and multimedia audio controller is with a yellow questionmark. Could u pls help me?

Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore – click radio button Create a restore point and follow instructions

Well...hopefully you can help me. I have no sound except for an occasional beep that happens when I get a warning or attention from a program.
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (build 2600)
There is nothing listed under my Multimedia. I used the Belarc Advisor that you posted on the first page to look up stuff, so if you need anything else just ask.

I got a free laptop from a relative recently and it had XP on it so I upgraded it to Vista and now I have no sound. Here's my info:

BookWorm...Your A Genius When it comes to this...but i have no idea what to do at this point....
i uninstalled my audio drivers (long story) and now when i try to reinstall my driver (ac-link 3d game audio) it says i need the gateway ich 3d enviromental disk but i do not have it i dont know what to do NO SOUND IS DRIVING ME CRAZY!!!!!!

I need help im having the same problem as everyone else i assume, i could have accidently deleted something or uninstalled something i shouldn't have......i went on an Uninstalling Rampage because my computer was too slow....and i now have no sound devices or recording devices or MIDI devices and i know near nothing about how to fix it.... please help...

Help Please. Code 28. Multimedia Audio Controller Issue
I am having th issue of the Multimedia Audio Controller not being properly installed and i dont know how to fix it. In the device manager it comes up in other devices saying multimedia audio controller with a yellow question mark. Please help
