My sister's computer got a virus so we had to reformat the drive. We gave it to a friend to reinstall the OS because we didn't have a backup CD. Now we find out that we don't have the Multimedia Audio Controller installed. There's a big yellow question mark on every one of the audio devices and I have no idea what sound card we have to go looking for drivers. Please help us out.
FYI the computer was custom built and was not purchased from stores.

I have a problem with my sons desktop and am hoping to get help. We just had some work done on it and now in the control panel under sounds, it states that there is no audio device. I am having a hard time finding his original discs to reinstall so am hoping that there is a solution to this problem. Here are the basics of the system:Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 (build 2600)
Install Language: English (United States)
System Locale: English (United States) Compaq Presario 061 ER920AA-ABA SR1838NX NA660 0nx1411RE101AMETM00
System Serial Number: CNN61508P1
Enclosure Type: Desktop
Processor a Main Circuit Board b
2.20 gigahertz AMD Athlon 64
256 kilobyte primary memory cache
2048 kilobyte secondary memory cache
64-bit ready
Not hyper-threaded Board: MSI AMETHYST-M 1.0
Bus Clock: 200 megahertz
BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 3.48 03/24/2006
Can anyone out there help us? Thanks So Much!
