Sigmtel or Sigmatel? I can't find anywhere to download the former though there are google results for it. I downloaded a Sigmatel audio driver from here:
http://uk.wrs.yahoo.com/_ylt=A9iby4k...riverid=139297

I installed the program and extracted the driver but when I went to add it for the multimedia audio controller, it said that it "doesn't contain information about my hardware".

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case

This is the link to Fujitsu Siemens D1875 system board

http://www.fujitsu-siemens.co.uk/sup...wnloads_1.html

these are the drivers for your D1875 motherboard, select Audio(onboard)
Show operating system without support and select Win XP Home

Audio Driver is SigMatel Audio for STAC979758

the Tools & utility is for the speakers

When unzipped there is a fastinstall file
Hope this helps

I have the same no-audio problem. I have a Dell Dimension 4500 and when I checked under "Multimedia Audio Controller," it says "The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)" I would really appreciate it if somebody could direct me in some way.

This is the link to Dell Dimension 4500, as you can see there are more than one audio drivers http://support.euro.dell.com/support...&os=WW1&osl=EN

Get Belarc Advisor http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

copy and paste the report in the post ( not the software license section ) and then we can check what audio you have.

Hope this helps
