Your audio is a FortMedia FM801 PCI Sound Card , you will need to register at DriverGuide
http://members.driverguide.com/ums/index.php?action=r

log in and follow this path, left hand pane Search / Simple / filter: - sound card / OS Win 2000 / model:- type FM801
Scroll down to FortMedia FM801 PCI Audio / wdm2000.zip - Dec 6 2000

Hope this helps

I have problem with my audio setup in WinXP Pro. I can play games, media player (music, video) with sounds, but not when using internet explorer watching streaming media (such as from YouTube).
I tried to reinstall my audio driver (and also update with the latest one, WDM_A390) but didn't help.

Here's what I notice in Control Panel - Sounds And Audio Devices:
- Under the Volume tab, I checked the Place volume icon on taskbar. But it never show up.
- Under Sounds tab, the small Play button at the bottom is grayed.
- Under Audio tab, the Sound Playback and recording are set to my sound device (Realtek Audio'97).
- However the MIDI playback is empty. I tried to set it to Microsoft GS Wavetable. But it is empty again the next time i open the window.
- Under Voice tab, the Voice Playback device is also empty. I also tried to set it to Realtek Audio but it become empty again.
- I also click on the Test Hardware button, but no sound coming out.
- Under Hardware tab, I notice there are two Audio Codecs on the list. Usually it's only one. Is there anyway to combine it? Could it be the source of the problem?

I also try to use system restore. But it didn't help.

Thanks for the big helps.

Set a System restore Point before installing driver just in case

Then go here toGigabyte http://www.giga-byte.com/Support/Mot...ProductID=1690

install the Chipset driver then RESTART your comp

If you have a Win XP CD try a System File Check Go to Start / Run / type "sfc /scannow" ( without the quotes and note the space after sfc ) have your Win XP Cd available in case sfc needs to replace or repair any files.

Hope this helps
