Use System Restore to roll back to before you installed the drivers[/U

Then go to ASUS http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=en-us site to get the sound driver, just fill in as follows
Select product > Motherboard
2. Select series > Socket 478
3. Select Models > scroll down to P4R800-VM
click Search > choose Drivers Tab

your driver is 2nd on the list V.5.12.1.3860 SoundMax Audio Driver

Choose a download site.

Hope this helps

If you can get into Windows use System Restore to roll back to the restore point you created before the installation, if you can't get into Windows press F8 continually at Startup to get to Safe Mode, then use System restore to roll back.

then get your sound driver here http://support.packardbell.com/uk/my...294420072#show

Hope this helps

elenor I see a C-Media sound card on your system, now I have 2 drivers, the first is the C-media 9738 AC97 codec the second the C-media 8737. The 9738 has support for your card so I would try that one first, if it doesn't work try the second.

Set a System Restore Point before you install any drivers just in case

http://www.softwarepatch.com/utilities/cmedia-9738.html this is the 9738

http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/SOU...12010644.shtml this is the 8738

Hope this helps
