had a look at Abit site and no audio offered for any of these boards, it appears to be a Nvidia nForce audio, go here to nVidia http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_...2_win2kxp.html this is the first time Iv'e seen this audio, so

Set a System Restore Point before installing just in case

my audio device has work again !
Thank you very much Barbara, you're an inspiration

It's true that my pc driver was realtek, It's active now without problem. how come windows xp and even everest's program recognized it as pci 7012 anyway ?

in any case, Thank you very much Barbara, you've been a great help!

Great, it is confusing, but Adapter is the clue, this is the audio chip, not the sound driver, happy listening

Cheers

BIOS: Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG 03/24/2004
Drives Memory Modules c,d

Just had a look at board, it's not showing onboard audio, but it is showing an AMR ( audio modem riser ) this could have something to do with it, go here to ASUS http://support.asus.com.tw/download/...Language=en-us

Top left under Downloads / Input Model to Search - type A7V / A7V / modem, its showing HDAudio modem

Don't forget the Restore Point

Hope this helps
