The audio plugs are on the I/O plate. Is it still way to fix it? Really thanks so much!!

you need to check that audio is Enabled in the BIOS - all commands are done through the keyboard

as soon as the comp boots press the F2 key - the BIOS Setup menu opens
http://www.overclockeddoc.com/bookwo...tup%20menu.JPG

use right arrow key to go to Advanced menu http://www.overclockeddoc.com/bookwo...%20%20menu.JPG

down arrow key go to Peripheral Configurations Submenu -press Enter http://www.overclockeddoc.com/bookwo...%20Submenu.JPG

if Audio is Disabled use the F9 key to set defaults which is Enabled

Press F10 to Save & Exit

y to accept changes

XP will then load

Install audio driver again

Set a System Restore Point before installing drivers just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

Question I've lost my sound is gone & the yellow ? is over the multimedia audio controller

Hello. I'm hoping someone can help me. I'm lost & my computer's w/o sound. There is the darn yellow ? over the multimedia audio controller & I don't know what type of driver I need.

Also under the Sound & Audio Device Properties on the volume tab it says no audio devices. I thought I had a Soundblaster Audigy SB1394 installed but I can't seem to find it nor did trying to install the drivers for that render any success. Actually it said it couldn't find the device.

The computer is a home built machine I got from a friend so I'm not sure exactly what the motherboard is. I ran that Belarc's thing but it didn't mean anything to me.

I'm desparate for any help I can get. If I need to provide additional info please let me know. Thank you.
