Question Wireless Network Problems

hi there,

i have a laptop and a desktop computer and am trying to get them to connect to each other wireless. i dont want to use the ad-hoc connection so i want to use the desktop computer as the access point and let the laptop connect to it that way. can somebody please help me in how i would go about setting this up?

Wireless Access Point Software

It sounds like you are shying away from using a router as your access point. If you want to use your desktop as the access point you need to download a wireless access point software. you may be able to find free ones out there, but check out procurve networking if you can't find any. Hope that helps.
