Startup Configuration

Hi..
I will discuss my all problems in this single Post and hope to get answers to all of them:

Some days ago my PC got Spyware, lots of Spyware. Ads started to come up (with the name: Only the best), my Internet Explorer was hijacked, my programs started giving errors. So i run the Microsoft AntiSpyware BETA and when it found many spyware's but didnt remove them saying that the software was expired. So, I installed McAfee AntiSpyware alongwith McAfee Virus Scan Pro, McAfee Personal Firewall... and updated them regularly... Virus Scan found some trojans as well as some viruses.... and removed them .... but then some days later when i got into my C:\Windows and C:\Windows\System32 diectories... i realized there were many programs and dll's with unknown names addum32.exe, adkj.exe, bhil.) so i removed them alll... and my system got a bit stable,.. now i edited MsConfig so that those exe's could be removed from startup... but WHEN I REMOVE THEM AND SAVE AND RESTART, THEY ARE BACK WITH IN THE STARTUP.... (the prev setting was "Selective Startup" i changed it to "Normal Startup" while disabling the extra exe's)... but whenever i restart and open it again ... the prev settings aer again there "Selective Startup, All extra exe's... so WHAT CAN I DO THAT MY STARTUP CONFIGURATION WILL BECOME OK>>>

second,,, i keep removing those files but they kepp coming... how can i manually remove them forever... (any Complicated, Pro user methods are expected...)
And please keep in mind that usually the solution to this type of probelm is to re-install windows... but i dont want to do that... as i've got 20GB of Software's installed... with settings... and Updates... so Please tell me any manual solutions... Thanks for ur time in advance.. BY The Way... sometimes a message also comes with a title (Windows Security Centre).. saying sometihing about suspicios netwrok activity... but if i click it .. it takes me on some other site..

First thing people need to do before they go online is make sure antivirus software is installed and running.

Adaware, Spybots Search & Destroy, and SpywareBlaster are a must. Use the immunize features of the latter two. Make sure to update all these programs regularly and run them.

Hijackthis will find hidden vermin but its up to you to identify the vermin from the not vermin. You can post hijackthis results to obtain help.

To cleanup your startup configuration you need a tool to manage all sections, where spyware can be added.

Try it!

I had the same problem on my laptop and it was so bad I had to buy a full version. I did some research on programs and got spy sweeper. It took four hours to run and found 150+ infected areas with 7000 associated infected threads. It found and fixed all of them. If your computer is that bad give it a try. It cost $29 and it was worth it. I spend four days before I bought it trying to fix it.
