My Documents Shortcut Broken

This evening I noticed that when I view My Computer, the My Documents folder lost its sharing icon. Upon further investigation, the My Documents folder actually does not point to my actual My Documents folder. It points to C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService. I do not even have a folder LocalService at that location. The My Docements shortcut in My Computer used to work fine, but now it points somewhere else. I have no idea how this happened. It looks like I can not change the properties of the My Documents shortcut in My Computer. I was just going to re-point it to the right location. Guess not. I got no error messages or anything. Can anyone help me with how to fix the My Documents shortcut in the My Computer folder?

Some general info. is below. If you need anything else, please let me know.
Windows XP Home SP2
Pentium 4 3.0 GHz
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro
McAfee VirusScan
McAfee Personal Firewall Plus

Thanks in advance.

I think I fixed my problem (or at least got my computer back to the way it was working before). I looked in the registry for the path to the location that it changed My Documents to. I found it and changed it back. That seamed to fix immediate problem. Can anyone shed any light on as to why my computer changed the path of the My Documents folder in My Computer to a location that did not exist? Could it be a virus?

Any help would be much appreciated, so I can avoid the problem in the future. Thanks.

yoni is correct, this is actually spyware so you'll need to scan your system using both a virus scanner and spyware programs.

Spyware can be removed using Adaware SE and Spybot S&D
If you need a virus scanner you can get free versions for temp. use from these companies.
