Unhappy Windows XP 'system' file Startup Problem

Hello all. Ok when i turn on my own windows XP machine i get a message that windwos cannot strat becasue the file "c:\windwos\system32\config\system cannot be found or is corrupt"

Ok I've tried to restart with my windwos XP setup disk and run the recovery console program and i can see the file 'system' which is over 3mb in size there is also a system.sav and a system.log so obviously the system file is corrupt. Now my problem - how do i go about extracting a new system file from the setup CD? I'm ok with computers but if someone had the details with the correct cab files and the exact extract command i'd be really really glad. Thank you well in advance.
