XP doesn't boot even in Safe Mode

Hello,

My AGP card is dead so I had to replace it temporary with a PCI - S3 Virge.
It worked fine for a while even with a low resolution on my TFT - BenQ FP731 until I decided to install a driver found on the internet (but not on the S3 producer's website).

After the installation, the resolution was the same so I tried to roll it back, but I didn't have this option in the Adaptor\Driver menu, strange.

After I restarted, I saw the boot menu and I chose XP (I have three other OS installed).
My computer started to load XP, I saw the Windows logo and the loading bar and then I saw only a black screen but after a few minutes (1-2) I could hear the melody that signals the OS finished to load.

I tried to boot in Safe Mode (simple, with networking and with command prompt) but I saw a long list of loading files and at "multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS\AppPa tch\drvmain.sdb" freezes.

When I boot in Normal Mode or Last Known Good Configuration, I see the Logo and the loading bar and the system loads completely but I still don't have video (only the blank screen). If I click (blinded) on the screen where I have different files, I can hear the programs loading so the OS is up.

When I choose to boot to Server 2003 which is installed on the second hard drive and I'm using it right now, everything is fine, I have video but with that low resolution, still better than nothing.

Untill I go and buy a new AGP card, can anybody tell me how can I come back to the driver that XP found in its library and installed, when I first installed this old video card. I would like to do this without having to reinstall the XP or to wait until I buy the new video card.

Thanks,
Luc

Well seems to me that your Xp is loading the drivers of the previous Graphic Card... thats really a problem... try to disable that grapich card and boot up only with the onboard one. that probably would let you go inside Xp so you can uninstall those drivers...

The PCI video card is not on board but this is not the problem. The question is how can I boot in XP if it's loading this old drivers and I don't have video.
There is any posibility to change the drivers if I boot in Recovery Console or if I boot in Server 2003 and I can see the XP drive ?

well you could prbably boot from 2003 server and find the folder where your drivers are installed... Dont erase it just change the name of the folder and that will prevent windows to load them up next time...
also is a very good idea having a HDD image copy for your OS once they are working good 100%. You probably dont have one.
