How to play a .mp4 video file in Windows Media Player 10???

I have a movie file which has the extension .mp4, so I think it is a MPEG4 video format. Please help me - how could I play this video file in Windows Media Player 10, or BSPlayer??? Now I have only sound, no video signal... I've tried downloading from Microsoft site the last codecs for W.M.Player, but it won't work! Maybe, it is a specific pack of codecs which I do not know yet....
Thank you for the help...

I must specify that I have ACE Mega Codec Pack installed, with settings on "Just Play". Eventually, if nothing else solves the problem, please recomend me a good converter software from .mp4 format to .avi...

Solution that worked for me!

Hi,
I had the same difficulty but found a very small and free download, called DS decoder from mpegable.com which installed very easily and which then allowed me to play my MP4 video with sound files in Windows Media Player without any hassle. Alternately, MP4 files also play in a DivX player but, in mine, without sound, lower picture quality and less controllability. Good luck
