Clarification needed on ntldr is missing
Hi first post on here but have read this site a few times to solve some problems.
Have already checked out a thread regarding this problem and done some research on it. So I have a very rough idea of what is going on.
When the Pc is starting up I get the error message
NTLDR is missing
I Can get round this by starting the PC from the boot up menu by manually choosing boot from Hard Drive.
From an earlier thread regarding the same problem I followed the instructions, but I need some points cleared up if anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.
After I have entered the XP setup menu and pressed R to repair windows XP
I am asked which Windows installation would I like to log onto?
1: C:\MinINT
2: C:\I386
3: C:\Windows
Which is it? And why does it not ask for a password?
Also which is the correct command?
is it
Copy e:\i386\ntldr C:\
Copy e:\i386\ntdetect C:\
or
C:\>copy e:\i386\ntldr
C:\>copy e:\i386ntdetect.com
because I have seen both listed in seperate websites.
Thanks for any help.
