Smile No sound Multimedia audio Controller missing

Hello, I have exhausted all areas to date, about a month ago I copied my Multimedia Center from my C drive to my D drive to secure more C drive space. Since then I have no sound. I get the yellow ? mark over my multimedia audio controller. When I go to reinstall it says its missing. My Device manager shows Audio Codecs, Legacy Audio Driver, Legacy Video Driver, Media Control Devices, Media Control Devices, Unimodem Half Duplex Audio Device, and Video Codecs. I have been in touch with Sony on 6 different occasions, I have restored, rebooted re applied and nothing. I found out last night when behind the PC that when I unplug the sound cable from the card and slowly drug it against the card above it, it makes sound and noise through the speakers like it wants to work. (Sorry for the novel but Im frustrated). The only other thing I have donme recently was to purchase an X2GEN 19 inch LCD flat screen with built in speakers. When I came home I replaced the monitor, had regular sound through the old speakers, unplugged and plugged in the monitor and had sound from the monitor. I liked the speakers sounds better and plugged it back into the old speakers. Had sound for a bit ...now none.

Which issue could be my problem?

A yellow ? in device manager means Windows doesn't know what the actual device is, which in turn means the device driver is not installed. If you fitted the sound card yourself, you should have it's driver on a separate CD somewhere. Otherwise you need to identify it's make/model and get the appropriate driver from their website. To help you identify it, install 'Everest Home Edition' and it will list all devices on your system:
