14 GB of files were lost after chkdsk

After I restarted my computer winxp asked me to do chkdsk so I let it do the check, but after it finish I was not able to find one of my folders which contains all my important data. Could you please help me find my files????

Read it over and see if you file are now saved as file format Filennnn.chk

The problem is that it did not leave this files, or it left them but I have no access to them at all they do not appear even if winxp is showing the hidden files and folders, I saw these files using filerecovery program only.

Is there any way that would let me access these files and folders(Filennnn.chk)???

They do not appear using winxp at all,if they appear I will take the ownership of the files and folders. They only appear as deleted files using recovery program.
