BSoD on opening of txt files

Okay, well I just replaced my motherboard, didn't upgrade it though, I broke my old one (don't ask) and replaced it with one of the exactly same model. I start up my computer and everything appears to be working fine, but whenever I open a .txt or something that would be opened with notepad, I get a blue screen.

Service Pack 2
Asus SK8N
FX-51
Corsair LLPT3200

I'm going to go backup my files now (without opening any .txts ) just in case I have to reinstall, but I would prefer not to, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Did you have a networked printer that you haven't hooked back up?
Some word processing apps will crash upon opening a file, if the default printer is missing.
What exactly is the error message you get when it crashes?
