Question back up registry

I'm trying to fix my cd drive, and i need to make a back up registry and im not sure how. if anyone could help I would really appreciate it

The quickest and easiest way [IMO] to backup or restore the XP Registry is with the free program "ERUNT" from here: http://www.larshederer.homepage.t-online.de/erunt/
